The Cheung Kong MBA
When Cheung Kong GSB was established in 2002, the forces of globalization were already shaping business, particularly in emerging markets such as China. Given this context, the Cheung Kong MBA program is committed to preparing students to leverage the most promising opportunities in the “globalized” business environment. World class professors ensure that the Cheung Kong MBA classroom is a highly interactive place. Courses are taught in English and professors frequently employ China-based case studies, and assign group projects and student presentations. Over the course of the program, Cheung Kong MBA students stretch themselves to new heights, developing a solid foundation in business fundamentals, honing leadership skills, and broadening their perspectives.

Over 300 MBA graduates have enjoyed one of the best business educations on China and emerging markets available, and have then gone on to re-launch their professional careers with a unique set of China-related skills and insight vital for the future of nearly any global enterprise.

MBA Curriculum
Although the Cheung Kong MBA is modeled after North American business schools in terms of course content and teaching style, the overall modular structure of the one-year full-time MBA program is similar to one-year MBA courses offered in Europe. By doing this, the Cheung Kong MBA delivers demonstrated successful business education in a most possible efficient time length of 12 months class time.

The Cheung Kong academic year begins in November and consists of eight consecutive modules. The first three modules contain ten courses covering a wide variety of business fundamental topics; Starting from Module 3, various electives provide a wide choice of courses in five concentrations of investment, corporate finance, strategy, and marketing and operations, allowing students to pursue their personal interest for both academic learning purpose and career advancement needs.

More important, the Cheung Kong MBA also offers a wide choice of courses designed to equip students with knowledge of China business practices by illustrating their relationship to classical management theories. Module 5 (China Module) offers a feast of China business topics from the historical evolution perspective (China’s economic reform, China capital market) to the present situation (Alliances and Joint Ventures, VC financing, distribution channel in China). Module 8 (beyond China Module) provides MBA candidates with a deeper understanding of the business world by illustrating Confucius Humanism and a wider analysis to China’s major trading partners of South Korea, Japan, Unites states, Hong Kong , European Union and etc.
